Abstract: |
This study assessed the Performances of National Film and Video Censors Board in Regulating the Nigerian Film Industry (NFVCNB). Survey research method was adopted with questionnaire as the research instrument for data collection. Reinforcement theory was used to anchor the study. Findings revealed that NFVCB do not properly monitor film production and circulation in Nigeria. As a result, films produced here or imported into Nigeria find their way into the Nigerian market through various means. This encourages piracy which greatly affects the film industry in Nigeria. The study recommends that the government should provide the necessary funds to the agency and also provide the state of the art monitoring equipment for an effective monitoring and regulation of the operation of the industry. |
