Abstract: The increasing consumption of Mkpuru-mmiri (methamphetamine hydrochloride) among the youths in various communities, towns and cities across in Igbo land and elsewhere is of a great concern to governments and development authorities. Young and youthful individuals are becoming burdens and problems to the society as result of the menace. Consequently, this study is asking can public relations approaches be of any help in the fight against the consumption of Mkpuru-mmiri among the youths in Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State, Nigeria? The broad objective of the study is to appraise public relations strategies in the fight against the consumption of Mpuru-Mmiri youths in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area. Enugu state. However, the specific objectives include to determine how frequent the government use workshop to sensitize the youth about of MkpuruMmiri, assess the frequency of the use of radio talk show to mobilize the youth of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area against the consumption of Mkpuru-Mmiri and to ascertain any other major public relation strategy that the government is using to mobilize against Mkpuru-Mmiri. Descriptive research design was adopted. As a result, copies of questionnaire were distributed to sampled respondents. The findings show that public relations techniques such as radio talk-show, town hall meeting and peer group influencing can really help tackle the menace of Mkpurummiri consumption among the youths of Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State, Nigeria.
