Title: Social Media Usage in Church Administration in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Aba SYNOD

Abstract: This study investigated social media usage in church administration in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Aba Synod. The objectives of the study were to: examine the level of awareness of social media in church administration among leaders and members of Aba Synod: determine the extent of social media usage in church administration. The study was anchored on the technological determinism theory. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 6,382. The population of this study was drawn from the 2026 statistics of the Aba Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. The sample size of this study was 363, this was determined using Australian calculator. The study employed purposive random sampling technique. The instrument of data collection was structured questionnaire. Data were presented in frequency tables and analysed using simple percentage. Finding showed that there was a high level of social media awareness in church administration in Aba Synod. Also, the study found that to a large extent leaders and members in Aba Synod use social media in church administration. The researcher among other things recommendations that there should be continuous tech training for church workers and members of Aba Synod to equip them with current trends in digital media technology. Also, Aba Synod should invest in the acquisition of digital gadgets for effective social media usage in church administration.
